REGISTRATION
It is necessary to have the following items in order to register for school:
- Proof of residence - (light bill)
- Certified Copy of birth certificate or card
- Immunization record
- Parent/Guardian picture identification
- Report card or transcript from last school
- Withdrawal sheet from previous school establishing clear record if enrolled during school year
- Guardianship papers if the student is residing with someone other than the parent

SCHOOL DRESS CODE
ALL Garden Oaks students are required to wear uniforms each day. School uniforms are:
- Khaki pants, walking shorts, skirts, skorts, or jumpers.
- Red, Navy Blue, or White polo style shirts or Garden Oaks Elementary T-shirts.
- Soft soled fully enclosed shoes (tennis shoe style). No open toed or open heeled shoes
are allowed.
Sandals are not permissible footwear.
ALL students must wear uniforms daily. There will be no exceptions.

| Bell Schedule | 7:45 a.m. Students may go to their class 8:00 a.m. (tardy bell) All students arriving afterwards must go to the office with parent for an admission slip. |
| Breakfast | 7:15 - 7:40 a.m. Free for all children |
| Lunch | HISD Food Services Menu 10:40 - 12:20 (scheduled by class) cost: $1.40 (child) |
| Attendance | Taken every day at 9:30 a.m.. Students not present at 9:30 a.m. are counted absent. Refer to the handbook for additional guidelines. |
