Central Region Inventors’ Showcase Rules and Regulations
- Schools should hold their Showcase prior to Thursday, March 25, 2010. Project entry forms are due to the Central Region Science Fair Coordinator Thursday, March 25, 2010.
- The size of the exhibit must not occupy a space in excess of 122 cm wide by 76 cm deep by 274 cm high if floor mounted. If projects are displayed on a tabletop, then the maximum heights for the display itself is approximately 198 cm (6 ft., 6 in.). Electricity will not be provided at the Fair.
- The scientific and technical community throughout the world uses the International System of Units (SI). Because of this, students are strongly encouraged to use this system of units for inventions entered in the fair.
- All inventions in the Central Region Young Inventors’ Showcase must be submitted through the School Coordinator.
- Only winning projects from a school competition may be entered in the Central Region Science Fair.
- Divisions: Pre K – Grade 3: Class, individual or team (2 or 3 members) Grades 3 – Grade 8: Individual or team (2 or 3 members)
- Schools who are not pre-registered prior to the Central Showcase will be allowed to display their inventions and given certificates of participation; however, they will not be judged or eligible for placement.
- Projects must receive a minimum of 35 points in order to be eligible to receive a medal or trophy.
- All team members must be present for team projects.
- Each school may enter nine (9) projects.
- PreK – 4 projects may be entered in Spanish.
